The futon, a Japanese traditional style bedding, is a type of Japanese mattress used on the floor at night for sleeping. This Japanese bed is traditionally rolled up during the day when not needed to free up some space in the room. Originating in Japan, this soft, rollable Japanese mattress can easily be set up on the tatami mats on the floor to provide airy yet firm support. These three-layer futons disperse pressure on the body, making for comfortable sleep even if you have back pain. Use a tatami mat with the futon to adjust moisture, and you will feel cool and refreshed even on a hot summer night. These versatile futons can be used on the floor on a bed frame or stored in the closet in case you have a guest, ensuring a good night's sleep.

This futon mattress is delivered compressed in a vacuum bag. After opening the vacuum bag, the futon mattress will gain air and return to its original thickness. Wrinkles may be present on the futon, but this is not a defect; please air it for a few hours. On a dry, sunny day, dry the futon on both sides for about two hours each. The futon will gain air, becoming fluffy and soft.

To prevent the futon from getting damaged, please use covers or sheets and make sure to wash them frequently (at least once a week). The futon should be dried in the sunshine or in a futon dryer (at least once a week). With sunshine and heat, it will become more resilient, warm, and fluffy. Lightly beat the futon occasionally to remove dust.

Store the futon in a dry place, with the mattress on the bottom and the comforter on top. If the futon will be stored for a while, it should be dried first and stored in a dry place with the covers removed. Dry the futon on a regular basis even if not in use.

When the futon becomes dirty, please spot clean and dry it well. This futon cannot be washed in a washing machine. Please refer to a dry cleaner or a futon company.
